HUSHPUCK · HELP & SETUP
A little help.
A simpler day.
Your puck, your iPhone and a little space for everything else.
First time? Start with a scan.
- Install the hushpuck companion app on your iPhone.
- Open the app and choose Scan my puck. Hold the top of your iPhone near your puck.
- After your puck is recognised, allow Screen Time access and choose the apps or categories this puck should pause.
- When you’re ready, scan a paired puck to Hush. Return and scan any paired puck to Unhush.
Your first setup scan saves your puck; it doesn’t start or end a focus session. First-time registration needs internet. Paired pucks work offline afterwards.
Which iPhones?
Designed for iPhone XS, XS Max, XR and newer, including iPhone SE (2nd and 3rd generation), with iOS 17 or later. You’ll need to grant Screen Time access.
More than one puck?
Pair each puck in the app and choose its own apps to pause. The puck you physically scan starts Hush with its selection. Any already-paired puck can Unhush. Browsing the Home carousel doesn’t change active restrictions. A puck can also be set up separately on another person’s iPhone.
Changing your app choices
Choose a puck on Home or in Apps, then open Apps to Hush. Unhush before editing app choices, adding pucks or removing them. You can still browse, rename and identify saved pucks while Hushed.
New phone or a fresh installation?
Scan your puck, grant Screen Time access and select your apps again. There’s no account or cloud sync to restore. Your puck identifies itself; it doesn’t hold your app selections.
Can’t reach your puck?
The app’s recovery action is under Settings → Help → Can’t reach your puck? It is deliberate, works offline and doesn’t need a support request. If Screen Time access has changed, follow the app’s permission guidance.
